A former resident described her first day in detail on White Collar Advice: After R&D processing, she visited psychology, medical, and administration, receiving advice from staff to "Stay away from the drama."
She noted that "despite the run-down appearance of the dorm, there were stall doors on the toilets"—a small dignity that varies by facility.
Former inmates generally describe the facility as "a nice yard, fairly slow-paced and somewhat boring at times, just the place to finish a bid."
In October 2018, Hurricane Michael (Category 4) significantly damaged the facility, forcing evacuation of all inmates.
The women's camp houses approximately 200 inmates and offers the STAGES Program for those with serious mental illness and personality disorders.
