FCI El Reno made history on July 16, 2015, when President Barack Obama became the first sitting U.S. president to visit a federal prison. Obama toured the facility and met with inmates to discuss criminal justice reform.
The camp is one of only two remaining farm facilities in the Bureau of Prisons, operating a working dairy farm where inmates can gain agricultural experience.
The camp offers apprenticeships in Dental Assistant, along with vocational training in Diesel Repair and Horticulture—programs not typically found at most federal camps.
Housing consists of dormitories divided into two- and four-person cubicles, providing a range of accommodation options based on availability.
