Notes from Alumni

  • FCI Berlin opened in 2012 on the site of a former paper mill, making it one of the newer facilities in the BOP system. The remote location in northern New Hampshire, while scenic, can make visitation challenging for families.
  • The facility is designated as a "criminal alien" institution, meaning a significant portion of inmates are foreign nationals facing deportation after serving their sentences.
  • Reviews collected by Zoukis Consulting Group note that the camp provides work opportunities supporting the main institution, with inmates housed in dormitory-style quarters.

Please remember that experiences are unique and may not reflect today's experience.
