Notes from Alumni
- Jeff Smith, a former Missouri state senator who served eight months at FCI Manchester in 2009-2010, wrote about his experience for Inc. magazine, providing a rare first-person account of life at the facility.
- In February 2018, Eastern Kentucky University reached an agreement with the prison allowing criminal justice students to take classes alongside inmates—a unique rehabilitative partnership.
- The camp offers specialized vocational training in Horticulture and Hydroponics, in addition to standard Culinary Arts programs available at both the FCI and camp.
- While the camp originally had four dormitories, two have been closed, leaving inmates housed in two-person cubicles within the remaining structures.
Please remember that experiences are unique and may not reflect today's experience.
