FCI Phoenix (minimum-security camp)
Appearance
Notes from Alumni
- A former resident shared on Prison Professors: "The women's camp is supposed to be a pretty good option. I was at the male prison for about a week when I first began serving my sentence. The prison was clean and it seemed okay."
- The women's camp (FPC Phoenix) holds about 275 non-violent, white-collar female inmates, most from the western U.S.
- Housing consists of 2-person bunks as well as 4- and 8-woman cubicles in dorm-style living. Padlocks for lockers are sold in the commissary.
- The facility participates in the 500-Hour RDAP, which can reduce sentences by up to 18 months for eligible participants.
- Former Steppenwolf drummer Jerry Posin served five years at the facility.
