Notes from Alumni

  • The camp's visiting area has a capacity of 250 people—more than double the 111-person capacity of the main FCI visiting room—reflecting the emphasis on family connections at minimum security.
  • Visitors to the camp may bring up to $20.00 in change into the facility for vending machines.
  • The camp offers vocational training in Logistics/Transportation Management and Quality Assurance and Supervision—career-focused programs relatively unique among federal camps.
  • In 2012, an investigation revealed inmates operated a marijuana ring from inside FCI Memphis spanning Tennessee, Louisiana, and Texas, generating at least $85,000. The drugs were smuggled through the prison kitchen by a corrupt food services employee.

Please remember that experiences are unique and may not reflect today's experience.
